Maharashtra Received Heavy Rain

26,000 families evacuated from Maharashtra as heavy rains disrupted normal life in 15 districts of Maharashtra. The families were evacuated from Nanded, Yavatmal, Buldhana and Jalgaon districts while Marathwada and Vidarbha regions were the hardest hit by the rains. Yavatmal is the worst affected area so far. The state has called upon the navy, army and air force to help resuce people. Two teams of the air force have reached the area from Bangalore. The Godavari river has started flowing three metres above the danger mark. In a matter of 12 hours, the city recorded 167.4 mm of rain in Santa Cruz and 130.2 mm in Colaba where the suburbs have have received more rain then the city.
